The printed version, Convenit Selecta (usually shorter than the electronic Convenit), is each time edited by a different main publisher: in this edition it is the Departament de Ciències de l'Antiguitat i de l'Edat Mitjana de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona that is the publisher.
Some of our publishers have already been formally introduced to our readers in other electronic publications of Editora Mandruvá:
- The Departamento de Filosofia e Ciências da Educação da Universidade de São Paulo (Spanish version; Portuguese version: Portuguese version and German version: German version;
- The Raimundus Lullus Institut (Universität Freiburg);
- The Gabinete de Filosofia Medieval (Faculdade de Letras da Universidade do Porto); and
- The Departament de Ciències de l'Antiguitat i de l'Edat Mitjana (Univ. Aut. Barcelona).
In this edition we present Instituto Plural and "Raimundo Lúlio" Brazilian Institute of Philosophy & Science.
Although this is not a thematic edition, there are many articles on the timeliness of Classics. In the realm of juridical Philosophy, Paulo Ferreira da Cunha discusses Human Nature; Fábio Konder Comparato, Justice and Dignity as the only way to a durable peace; Selma Ferraz, Justice and Charity. Still based on the Classics we present some lecture notes on the foundations of Ethics; Dante Gallian proposes a rehumanization of Medicine; a research team of the Proinfo-Edu - FIA - FEA-USP analyzes the problematic theme of trade on Sundays and Antonio Orozco suggests finding some way of countering the allure of nihilism.
Some studies on present day themes complete this edition: what are the criteria for doing a dissertation on social sciences by José Siqueira; Hermeneutics and Hypermedia by Sérgio Bairon and a discussion of the problems of behaviour in schools by Francesc Xavier Moreno Oliver.
In our electronic edition we include the dissertation (unhappily too long for this printed version) of Josep M. Zaragoza Raduà: Les actituds del professorat de secundària obligatòria cap els aprenentatges dels alumnes and the article of Gilda Naécia Maciel de Barros on Rousseau and citizenship.
We wish to thank the authors and editors for the high quality of the articles and to express our special gratitude to Dr. Pere Villalba, the editor of Convenit for the Departament de Ciències de l'Antiguitat i de l'Edat Mitjana de la Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
